Gardner-Webb head baseball coach Rusty Stroupe has announced the dates for two Christmas camps in December. The December 3rd camp will be a pitcher/catcher camp for high school and middle school age players. The December 4th Skills camp will be for first grade through eighth grade and will cover various baseball fundamental skills. The Saturday, December 3rd pitcher/catcher camp will begin at 1 p.m. at Moss Stadium/Masters Field on campus and will last until 5 p.m. Participants will be given free admission to the home Gardner-Webb basketball game that night at 7 p.m. against Winthrop. Cost for the camp will be $40. Catchers and pitchers who also play a position will be given the opportunity to hit during the camp.
The Sunday, December 4 Skills Camp will last from 2 p.m. until 5:30 that afternoon. Campers will practice proper throwing, hitting, fielding, and running techniques as well as engage in fun-filled competition activities. Cost for the Skills Camp is $30.
To register for either of these camps, please send an email to Coach Stroupe at rstroupe@gardner-webb.edu to indicate that you will be attending. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL PAYMENTS IN ADVANCE. Payment can be made on the day of camp. It is important for staffing and facility purposes to know who will be attending in advance so please email with that information as soon as possible. There is no limit to the number of participants.
In the event of inclement weather, the camps will be held indoors at the GWU batting cages and other facilities on campus. Please report to the baseball stadium at the appropriate time regardless of the weather.
